Background
The objective of the study is to examine the effects of E-procurement on organizational performance in War Child South Sudan.
Methodology
The study adopted a descriptive research design where a sample size of 40 respondents who were selected through stratified sampling was involved in the study. Primary data was collected from the respondents by use of a questionnaire. The data was analyzed and presented in tables, and pie charts. A regression was also conducted to establish the relationship between e-procurement and performance.
Results
4.1, 38% of the respondents were male while 52% were female. This indicates that most of the workers were female. However, all aspects of gender were adequately represented.
The study established that War Child South Sudan, to a larger extent had successfully implemented E-procurement. It was however clear that E-procurement mostly was implemented recently since the company had this system for less than five years. This is a clear indication that E-procurement in the organization was not a very old concept hence it was at its piloting stage.
Conclusion
E-procurement was associated with several effects on the performance of War Child South Sudan. Among these effects included: real-time response to both the customers and the market; improved timely response; improved information flow in the procurement process, assisted the organization in reducing costs, and improvement in competitive bidding and sourcing.
Recommendation
There is a need for the corporate management of War Child South Sudan to emphasize the need to carry out all the procurement functions through e-procurement.
Employees need to be trained on the usage of the e-procurement system. This will enable them to operationalize the system.
